Kuluchim Ridum Hodum Released

Kuluchim Ridum Hodum was released by Ms. Sharada Nepal, Office in-charge of Women Development, Ilam on 15th Asar 2066BS(29th June 2009). On the occasion she expressed that the book has added value in recognition of Kulung community at the time of restructuring the state. She was not aware before that Kulung has also its own language, culture and social structure as others have. Government has also made favourable policy towards protection of cultural diversity and protection of such intangible heritages in the country. She applauded to the endeavour of Kulu Guskham that brought out the book for general peoples

Kuluchim Ridum Hodum is a book contained with the ingredients of cultural identity of distinct indigenous peoples called Kulung. The book has made an endeavour to explore the elements that Kulung community has been practicing since time immemory created by their ancesstors living in their traditional territory of Mahakulung.

On the occasion President of Kirat Kulu Guskham, Chandra Singh Lowatti highlighted the aim and objective of publishing the book on that time. He made clear that Kulungs are in search of own identity from the state and in the process of gaining their distinct identity have already submitted a formal application to the High Level Task Force formed for reviewing the list of indigenous nationalities in Nepal coordinated by Dr. Om Gurung with 8 other members. The Kuluchim Ridum Hodum is belivied to add value in convincing to the task force that Kulung exist as an indigenous group and it will draw an attention of all the concerned institutions and government as well in connection with recognition complementing to other documentation and texts referred.

The book is in demi size and around 100 pages in a good quality of paper with lamination that enhanced its look. The cost of the book is NRs.150.
